IMPACT GRANTS
Parkview Legacy Foundation’s Impact Grants Program is driven by our core values and intended to support organizations seeking to make transformational progress in addressing needs and seizing opportunities in our four focus areas throughout the Riverside region.
Funding Priorities
Parkview Legacy Foundation is committed to support organizations, collaborations, and initiatives that directly address the root causes which negatively affect the four focus areas of housing stability, social mobility, whole health accessibility, and integrated solutions, and therefore, prevent residents of the Inland Region from achieving wellness and stability.
While we recognize the importance of and necessity for urgent services that address immediate needs and bring relief or sustenance to people and communities, Parkview Legacy Foundation’s Impact Funds are directed to supporting efforts seeking to decrease the need for or dependency on urgent services by making “upstream changes” at the cause for their need. This being the case, organizations applying for funding must demonstrate how they are doing so and describe the specific outcomes and impacts they are working toward with the output of and inputs into their work.
This chart is provided to give you examples of the types of work that is more likely to be funded than others.
Example of Ineligible Requests include:
A food pantry
A Homeless Shelter
An Employment Assistance Program that helps people find jobs and prepare for interviews
Example of Eligible Request include:
An initiative with specific objectives resulting in more effective and efficient food systems that increase the nutritional density of all household diets, and especially amongst low-income households
A project that aims to sustainably make long-term or permanent decreases in the number of new homeless situations
A comprehensive program or system of programs that increase the probability that community members will find and maintain meaningful work and build generational wealth for their families
We understand that there are many ways to work toward the changes that are needed to improve in our four focus areas and that some organizations doing this work simply need flexible core-operating funds to keep it moving forward, while others need hard to find funds that fund an intermediary supporting a larger-scale effort involving multiple partners and, while others need something responsive to address a specific or emerging need. For this reason, Parkview Legacy Foundation makes funding available each year in the following categories:
Emergent Needs Impact Grant
Emergent Needs (formely Special Needs) funding is intended to support one-time needs organizations have to accomplish institutional or programmatic goals that are instrumental to their mission. Examples of emergent needs include purchases of equipment or software, one-time programmatic gap funding, cash flow support, a special staff support project, and one-time staff development needs.
Core Operations and Capacity Impact Grant
Core Operations and Capacity funding is intended to support the advancement of the organization’s mission toward specific and stated objectives (goals, outcomes, and/or impact) through use of the funding by the organization in whatever way they deem necessary to do so (excluding prohibited uses). Examples of ways organizations may choose to use the Core Operations and Capacity Impact Grant include: funding a reserves fund, covering indirect costs, covering direct costs, seeding a new program or project.
Collective Impact Grant
Collective Impact funding is intended to support the advancement of efforts toward specific and stated objectives (goals, outcomes, and/or impacts) being carried forth by strategically coordinated and operated multi-sector collaborations and initiatives involving multiple organizations and/or institutions. Examples of ways the Collective Impact Grant may be used include: funding the operations of a backbone organization for the effort, providing participation funding to the participating organizations to help sustain the effort, and paying consultants or partner organizations to accomplish specific tasks on behalf of the effort.
Eligible organizations are those who:

Are 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations that are not classified as private foundations

Serve residents within the following zip codes: 92501, 92503-92509, 92521, 92551, 92553, 92555, 92557, 92879-92882, 91752, 92518, 92860, 92570, 92571

Are advancing work within one or more of our 4 Focus Areas

Do NOT discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, gender identity and expression, national origin, citizenship status, age, disability, sexual orientation, or veteran status

Do NOT conduct, fundraise for, or contribute to political campaigns or political parties
Application Deadlines

Applications for all Impact Grants may be submitted at any time throughout the year.

Letters of Intent for the Core Operations and Capacity, and Collective Impact Grants are due on July 31 annually.

Completed applications for the Core Operations and Capacity, and Collective Impact Grants are due on August 31 annually for consideration in the current year's grant cycle. Parkview Legacy Foundation will notify all applicants, who have fully completed and submitted the grant application by the August 31 deadline, of its funding decision by November 30.

Emergent Needs Impact Grant requests are accepted all year long and are reviewed monthly. Applicants will be informed of the funding decision 30-60 days following the Parkview Legacy Foundation's acceptance of a completed application received through the grant portal.
